Meet the Team – Wiston Karisa

This time around we had a quick chat with our team member Wiston!

Hello, Wiston! Nice to meet you! Where are you based, and what is profession and role with WoMena?

Hi Anne Kristine! I am Karisa Wiston, a Ugandan aged 25. I have been working for WoMena since August 2015 as the organizations administrative accountant. I heard about WoMena trough a friend.

What about the work or the mission attracted you to WoMena?

After getting to know about WoMenas mission was, this was a new thing for me and I realised that working with women would empower me with knowlegde only few men in Uganda knows about. I further saw it as an opportunity to improve my financial skills.

What are some of your priorities in your work right now?

As I am working under the finance team, dealing with women day to day accounting for both administration and projects.

For you, what is the most rewarding part of working with WoMena?

I have greatly improved in accounting skills. I have been able to obtain knowlegde on menstrual hygiene management and been able to work with a great team and meet amazing people who are passionate about menstruation.
