Become an intern or a volunteer

When I applied to be a distance volunteer for WoMena, I wanted to get to know the organisation and contribute as best as I could. I did this, and I enjoyed it a lot! It was great to see how WoMena works and how passionate the team members are. I was impressed by the structure of the regular meetings and by the communication channels that they uphold despite the distances.

I was impressed by the amount of people working for WoMena and their diverse backgrounds. And I was impressed that most of these committed people give their time so generously on a volunteer basis.

I felt listened to, appreciated, and respected for my work and for my presence. I felt that there was an honest interest and ambition from WoMena’s side to create an atmosphere of equality and mutual respect among the team members. I got as much responsibility as I wanted and could take. Whenever I had a special interest in a field, they accommodated searching for fitting tasks to make the work even more fun.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER OR AN INTERN

PASSIONATE, DEDICATED INTERNS AND VOLUNTEERS ARE CENTRAL TO ALL OF OUR ACTIVITIES AND TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR WORK

We have several potential projects, collaborations and ideas in the pipeline. In other words, there is a lot of work to be done. We also appreciate that many students and young professionals need working experience. Working at WoMena will help you acquire a wide array of NGO-specific skills while you are making a lasting difference in others lives. We encourage everyone interested to get in touch with us.

One way of getting first-hand experiences with our work is by becoming an intern. Our interns are usually connected to a well-known organisation or institution in the country where they do their internship and receive guidance and feedback as well as operational support from WoMena. We greatly value input from different backgrounds, which is why interns from organisations and institutions like Public Health, medical, political science, sociology and business backgrounds are all encouraged to apply.

Another way of becoming part of our organisation is by becoming a volunteer. Our success relies on our devoted volunteers. Whatever the position, each and every person at WoMena shares our goal of making reproductive health solutions available to everyone. We are constantly seeking volunteers with diverse backgrounds and experience and appreciate that you have the drive and ambition to create change.
