2014 Katakwi DanChurchAid menstrual cup intervention design

Through their “Give a menstrual cup” campaign DanChurchAid (DCA) raised funding to pilot an MC intervention. WoMena supported with the design of the intervention, toilet facility assessment, training of trainers and other aspects (Ruby Cup provided the MCs). The intervention started in June 2014, where 60 girls received an MC through DCA’s HIV/AIDS programme in Uganda, implemented by one of DCA’s implementing partner. The MC intervention was designed to fit into the partners’ bigger project design and implementation modalities. Lessons learned from the initial stages will feed into future DCA MC interventions.
