Plans on track for menstrual cup pilot study focusing on Ugandan schoolgirls
Plans are on track to do the first menstrual cup pilot study for school girls in Gulu, Uganda. The study will be focusing on acceptability, hygienic safety and school attendance for girls using the menstrual cups. The cups have been donated by Makit / Ruby Cup and are en route from Kenya with a WoMena member arriving in Uganda the 7th January. WoMena has recruited two Danish Public Health interns that will be responsible for the implementation of the study under guidance from WoMena. We are currently developing the design.
The study is planned to take place between February and July 2013, including baseline data collection and one follow up session.
