DanChurchAid launches “Give-a-cup” campaign through WoMena initiative
Sunday 12th May 2013 is Mother’s Day and reproductive health and women’s organisations all over the world are all using the opportunity to get more focus on womens’ issues. DanChurchAid (or “Folkekirkens Nødhjælp”) is one of them – as the first NGO in history, they are offering Danes to give a menstrual cup (“giv-en-kop”) to an African woman for Mother’s Day.
This initiative has been suggested to DanChurchAid from WoMena member Mai Gad, currently working for DanChurchAid in Uganda. The menstrual cups will be provided by Ruby Cup, WoMena’s partner. WoMena is currently exploring the opportunity for further collaboration with DanChurchAid on their menstrual cup program.
